Rules:

1) Sculptors whom have entered Master’s Classes in other contests may not participate in this contest, either shoveling or carving. They may, however, offer advice and guidance from the edge of the plot.

2) There is no pre-set plot size. You should set up on the beach at least eight (8) metres/twenty-five (25) feet away from any other competitors.

3) Only sand and water shall be used to build your sculpture. You may use plywood, nylon or plastic forms or buckets if you wish. Only natural materiels may be used for decoration. Driftwood, sea shells, seaweed, pebbles and stones are some examples.

4) Your sculpture must be finished to be eligible for prizes. That means all forms have been removed and the sculpture is still standing and fully carved within the allotted time-frame.

5) The Open Class will start at noon on Saturday, April 05, 2008 and will end at 4 pm. The Family Class will start at noon on Sunday, April 06, 2008 and will end at 3 pm. Judging will commence immediately after time is called.

6) The Open Class allows a maximum of four people over the age of thirteen (13) and an unlimited number of kids under thirteen.

7) The Family Class shall consist of one male and one female over the age of thirteen and one male and one female under the age of thirteen.

8) The decisions of the Judges are final.
